|
|
QUEENSRYCHE has officially parted ways with vocalist GEOFF TATE, and have replaced him by CRIMSON GLORY/RISING WEST singer Todd La Torre. "Over the past few months, there have been growing creative differences within Queensryche. We want our fans to know that we hoped to find a common resolution, but in the end parting ways with Geoff was the best way for everyone to move forward in a positive direction," drummer Scott Rockenfield said in a statement. "We wish him the best of luck with all of his future endeavors. We can't wait to bring Queensryche to our fans with Todd behind the microphone." |

I predict no return of the salad days. This is the end of the line. Queensryche without Geoff Tate?! Sometimes you gotta know when to fold 'em. |

What a bunch of crap!!! Geoff was QR!!!
But I think their music had really fallen off after Chris left.
I hope Geoff can hook back up with Chris... and they can rock out!!
I wonder what Geoff's Son-In-Law is going to do??? |

I don't think this will save the band, because the main problem with the band was their crappy songwriting, not Geoff's vocals. Some people have pointed out to me that Geoff wanted the band to be less metal, so now with him gone they can become more hard rocking, but I have my doubts.
I agree with the comment about it being time to fold. I did hear the replacement for Geoff and he sounds great though. He can nail the Crimson Glory stuff and the Queensryche stuff. He must have really trained to imitate Midnight and Geoff. |

I share those doubts, but it sure would be nice if the band could come up with some quality metal once more. |

I'd rather hear a new Crimson Glory album than a new Queensryche album. Although it's been quite some time since Astronomica so maybe Crimson Glory won't ever get it back together either. |

According to our old friend Jon Drenning CG will be doing a new album with La Torre on vocals. |

Good album released a few weeks back. Only seen La Torre sing at ProgPower (Crimson Glory Tribute) so hope to catch QR live this year. |

I'm still waiting for news on a Crimson Glory album. Queensryche has been bad too long. I just don't care anymore. Crimson Glory may actually release something decent.
The review I read of the new Queensryche suggested that the band went back to their empire/promised land sound. I'm not really a big fan of that sort of material. |
